This Rhythm & Roam episode is based on our personal experiences of the cleanest and dirtiest cities we've visited. We spill the tea (and maybe a little sanitizer) on the cities that wowed us with their gleaming charm and the ones that left us clutching our Lysol wipes. It’s not just about grime and glamour, though—we dig into how culture, history, and even climate play a role in a city’s “clean” or “dirty” rep. Spoiler: sometimes the “dirtiest” places have the richest stories, the tastiest food, and the most unforgettable people

Grab your earbuds and your Eurail pass—we’re going global with class credit. In this episode of Rhythm & Roam, we chat with our friend and her teenage son, Patrick, who recently jetted off on a high school trip abroad. But this isn’t just another "student tour with matching T-shirts" story.
Patrick, who is deaf and uses a cochlear implant to hear, shares what it was like to explore centuries-old castles, sip cappuccinos in hidden cafés, and walk through the pages of his history textbook—while navigating a world not always built for people like him. From accessibility wins to culture shocks and some seriously eye-opening moments, this is travel through a whole new lens.
Whether you're a parent wondering if study abroad is worth it, a traveler curious about accessible adventures, or someone who just wants a dose of real talk and inspiration—this episode is for you.

Oxygen Optional: My Climb to Base Camp
Thursday Jul 10, 2025
Thursday Jul 10, 2025
We catch up with Anjie, whose passport has been on beast mode lately—Paris, Dubai, and a trek up to Mount Everest Base Camp. But this isn’t just a highlight reel of globe-trotting glam. We dive into why she took on Everest, how it stretched her physically, mentally, and spiritually, and what it really means to evolve through travel.
From sipping espresso near the Eiffel Tower to gasping for air in the Himalayas, Anjie opens up about the moments that shifted her perspective on identity, ambition, and inner peace. As a mixed-race woman from Texas, she gets real about navigating the world’s extremes—and what it means to take up space where you don’t often see yourself represented.
We talk breakthroughs, and the raw joy of redefining success—not by what you have, but by who you’re becoming. This one’s a love letter to the adventurers who never saw themselves in the brochure and decided to write their own story anyway.
